Summerbrook Farm offers instruction in dressage from Intro through FEI levels, as well as jumping. Our instructors have competed successfully in national and international dressage as well as eventing, hunters and jumpers.
Our lessons focus on proper rider position and effectiveness, and the ability of the rider to methodically develop their horse according to classical dressage principles. We believe in dressage being the correct foundation for all disciplines, and we assist a variety of riders including dressage, hunter/jumper, eventing and pleasure riders. We work individually with each horse and rider combination, and will tailor a program to help each rider achieve their riding and showing goals.
Lessons through USEF levels are taught by Kelly Weatherhead. Ms. Weatherhead has over 30 years experience riding and teaching dressage as well as hunters and jumpers. She has competed to Prix St. Georges, and has trained and cliniced with notable judges and trainers including Linda Zang, Eric Chalamet, Felicitas Von Neumann-Cosel and Heidi Ericksen.
Lessons through FEI levels are taught by Barb Ferneyhough of White Gloves Farm. Ms. Ferneyhough has over 35 years experience riding and teaching dressage. She has trained and competed to Grand Prix both nationally and internationally, in Europe and the U.S. She has studied with some of the world's foremost trainers including the late Herbert Rehbein, the late Georg Theodorescu, Arthur Kottas, and the late Dr. Reiner Klimke.
